Details of the Süper Lig broadcasting tender won by Qatari beIN Sports revealed! How will the payment plan work?

The Qatari beIN Media Group, which won the broadcasting tender for the Süper Lig and the 1. Lig with a bid of 182 million dollars, will pay half of this amount at the current exchange rate, while the other half will be paid at an exchange rate of 31.3 Turkish Lira.

According to the tender specifications, the broadcaster will be subject to the current exchange rate for half of the amount it has committed to pay, which corresponds to a liability of 91 million dollars.

For the remaining 91 million dollars of the broadcasting fee, the exchange rate of 31.3 Turkish Lira, which was the rate on March 2, 2024, the day the bid was submitted, will be taken as the basis.

According to the agreement, if a payment of 10 million dollars is made in November 2024 during the season, 5 million dollars of this payment will be made at the exchange rate of that day, while the remaining 5 million dollars will be processed at the rate of 31.3 Turkish Lira.

The determined rate of 31.3 Turkish Lira will be increased by the inflation rate for the following season.

HOW WILL THE REVENUE DISTRIBUTION BE DETERMINED?

The Union of Clubs will decide how the broadcasting revenue, which has risen to 182 million dollars as a result of the new tender, will be distributed among the teams, the federation, and the lower leagues.

For the last 7 seasons, the distribution of broadcasting revenue has first allocated a 4 percent share to the federation and an 18 percent share to the lower leagues. The remaining amount was distributed as follows:

• - 37 percent equally to Süper Lig teams as a participation fee
• - 46 percent based on the performance of the teams
• - 11 percent among clubs that have won championships in past years
• - 6 percent among the teams that finished in the top 6 at the end of the season.
• - If the criteria remain unchanged, the reward for a victory will be approximately 6 million Turkish Lira

If the Union of Clubs does not make any changes to the distribution of broadcasting revenue, the earnings of the teams will increase by 113 to 141 percent.

Süper Lig teams will each receive at least 86.5 million Turkish Lira as a participation fee in the new season, even if there is no increase in the exchange rate.

Teams will earn 5.98 million Turkish Lira for every victory and 2.99 million Turkish Lira for every draw.

Clubs that have won championships in past years will receive a reward of 7.18 million Turkish Lira for each championship title.

The championship bonus for the team that wins the title at the end of the season is 86 million Turkish Lira.
